Why those numbers are held together
There is one rule and only one: two angklung may be held by the same person when their notes never sound at the same time. If they collide even once, they need two different people.

A simplification used here: one person holds the same angklung from the beginning of the piece to the end. A real ensemble can swap between sections, and if it does, the number of people needed can be lower than the figure above.
